Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a procedure applied to lighten the color of the teeth. This process is usually performed for aesthetic reasons and has various methods:

  1. In-Office Whitening: This method, performed by dentists, usually provides the fastest and most effective results. A strong whitening gel and special light are used.
  1. At-Home Whitening: Applied at home using special whitening kits prescribed by the dentist. These kits usually contain lower-concentration gels and require longer-term use.
  1. Whitening Toothpastes: These products may help whiten teeth superficially, but the results are generally more limited.
  1. Natural Methods: Some people apply whitening methods at home using natural ingredients (for example, baking soda, lemon juice). However, the effectiveness of these methods may be limited and they can damage the teeth.

It is important to consult a dentist before the whitening procedure. If there are allergies, sensitivity, or issues related to dental health, professional guidance is necessary to choose an appropriate method. After the procedure, paying attention to certain habits (for example, reducing the consumption of coffee, tea, and cigarettes) helps maintain the whiteness.
